ECOWAS Sustainable Energy Forum 8th edition (ESEF 2023)

The 8th edition of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF 2023) took place in Praia, Cape Verde, on October 12th and 13th, under the theme "Empowering Sustainable Energy in the ECOWAS region".

Created in 2016 by the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), ESEF 2023 was held in collaboration with the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Energy (MICE) and co-organised by ALER.

This event is already a significant milestone to support investments in sustainable energy, anchored on ambitious policies by the ECOWAS Member States.

This 8th edition of ESEF was crucial to empower sustainable energy in the region and achieve ambitious targets in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency, and run in parallel with the IV edition of the International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fair (FIEREE).

Over the past few years, ESEF has distinguished itself as a reference event for stakeholders in the energy sector, bringing together more than 1,000 stakeholders, including heads of state, ministers, leaders of development organisations, financial institutions and the private sector.
