Energizing Africa: How EU Financing is Changing the Renewable Landscape?

The European Union through the Global Gateway strategy has the goal of supporting more investments in quality infrastructure that respect social and environmental standards across developing countries. Today, Africa is still the most energy deficient continent in the world with over 640 million people without access to energy. There is an urgent need to increase electricity production and energy efficiency in the continent. The European financial and development institutions have a crucial role to play in financing more renewable energy projects in Africa. Supporting reforms, risk mitigation instruments, concessional finance and a conductive regulatory environment are essential to attract private investors.

The webinar “Energizing Africa: How EU Financing is Changing the Renewable Landscape?” will bring together EU development finance institutions alongside experienced project developers to discuss the role of EU financing in supporting more clean energy projects. The program will address the new EU strategy to accelerate energy transition in Africa and the risks to mitigate to attract private investors to the market. Expect an insightful discussion and a networking opportunity to connect with key stakeholders operating in renewable energy industry in Africa.

The webinar will be held in English.
