ALER Talks - New Regulatory Framework for Renewable Energy Projects in Angola
The first ALER Talk took place on May 27 at 10:30a.m. with the theme "New Regulatory Framework for Renewable Energy Projects in Angola" where were discussed the conditions that are being created to promote private investment in the development of new renewable energy projects, namely the publication of new regulations and a regime of incentives.
The following documents were discussed:
- Regulation of Electricity Production, Transport, Distribution and Sale Activities, approved by Presidential Decree No. 76/21, of March 25;
- Regulation of Independent Power Production, approved by Presidential Decree No. 43/21, of February 17;
- Incentive Framework for Private Investment in Renewable Energy, approved by the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers at the end of 2020.
These regulations open the doors to new investments in renewable generation in Angola, whose opportunities and details we wanted to make available.
"ALER Talks" is an event in a short and informal webinar format on a current topic moderated by Isabel Cancela de Abreu, ALER's Executive Director, which will have a quarterly frequency.
