1st edition of the Employment and Industry Fair: The Future of Renewable Energies in Mozambique

The 1st edition of the Employment and Industry Fair: The Future of Renewable Energies in Mozambique, organized by the Mozambican Renewable Energy Association (AMER), in partnership with the Industrial and Commercial Institute of Matola (IICM), and financed by Kreishandwerkerschaft Steinfurt Warendorf (KH), exceeded expectations by bringing together more than 300 participants, including students, professionals and companies from the industry and renewable energy sectors.

The event was marked by various activities aimed at developing and bringing talent into the job market, as well as fostering collaboration between companies and young professionals, revealing the increased awareness of the advantages and opportunities of investing in renewable energies in Mozambique. However, the challenge of transitioning to clean energy still remains, with only an estimated 2.5 million Mozambicans (around 6% of the population) having access to this type of energy.

In his speech, the President of AMER, Ricardo Pereira, highlighted the opportunities and challenges of the sector, emphasizing the crucial role of young people in the future of renewable energies. “The future depends on your commitment. The renewable energy sector is constantly growing and faces challenges that can only be overcome with creativity, proactivity and determination. Be inspired and embrace this sector, which offers countless career and development opportunities,” said Ricardo Pereira, encouraging young people to explore this promising field.
