ALER at the CPLP Thematic Commission Coordinators and new Consultative Observers Meeting

On 28th November 2024, ALER attended the CPLP Thematic Commission Coordinators and New Consultative Observers Meeting, organized by the Executive Secretariat of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), at the CPLP headquarters in Lisbon.

Opening the proceedings, the Director of Cooperation at the CPLP Executive Secretariat, Manuel Clarote Lapão, highlighted the importance of the joint work of the 122 CPLP Consultative Observers and the 16 Thematic Commissions already set up in building the CPLP's institutional agenda.

Eduarda Couto, ALER's Project Manager, attended the meeting to present the set of activities carried out by the Energy Thematic Commission in 2024 (namely the CPLP Energy and Climate Seminar Series and the Launch Event for the 2nd CPLP Energy Conference at COP29) and the plan of activities for 2025 (which includes the 4th CPLP Energy and Climate Seminar and the 2nd CPLP Energy Conference).

This commission, which aims to monitor and study the energy sector in CPLP countries, is coordinated by ALER and also composed by the Association of Energy Regulators of Portuguese-speaking Countries (RELOP) and the Autonomous University of Lisbon (UAL).
