ALER in institutional visit to Guinea-Bissau
From 7th to 10th October, ALER visited Guinea-Bissau to coordinate different activities and projects to be implemented in the country.
Pedro Clemente, ALER's Planning and Partnerships Manager, attended the first meeting of the Advisory Board of the Africa Mini-Grid Market Acceleration Program (AMAP). This technical assistance program, financed and implemented by the AfDB and SEFA, aims to create a reliable investment environment for developing green mini-grid projects in Africa. The project is managed by a consortium brought together and led by ALER.
After this meeting, several coordination meetings followed, namely with the Ministry of Energy and Industry; the National Energy Directorate; the European Union Delegation in Guinea-Bissau; the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the World Bank.
Also during this institutional visit, ALER met with TESE – Associação para o Desenvolvimento, Foundation Rural Energy Services (FRES) and Impact Hub Bissau, ALER's partners and associates in the country.
All these meetings led to a productive discussion on the progress made and the future opportunities for the energy sector in Guinea-Bissau.
