ALER Participates in the Portugal-Cabo Verde Economic Forum in Lisbon
ALER was present yesterday at the Portugal-Cabo Verde Economic Forum, organized by the Agency for Investment and External Trade of Portugal (AICEP), in Lisbon, as part of the Portugal-Cabo Verde Summit. Under the theme "Strategic Partners in Investment in Energy and Digital Transitions," the event brought together key actors from the economic and energy sectors, to strengthen bilateral relations and promote new business opportunities between the two countries.
Isabel Cancela de Abreu, Executive Director of ALER, played a prominent role in moderating the roundtable discussion on "Renewable Energies." This panel featured contributions from important figures in the sector, including Rito Évora (National Director for Industry, Commerce, and Energy of Cabo Verde), Bruno Martins (CEO of Cabéolica – ALER Member), and Alexandre Nevsky Rodrigues (National Secretary for Climate Action of Cabo Verde).
During the debate, the main initiatives and challenges both countries face toward energy transition were discussed, focusing on promoting renewable energy in Cabo Verde.
Isabel Cancela de Abreu emphasized the importance of collaboration between Portugal and Cabo Verde, highlighting the growth potential in the renewable energy sector and the need to strengthen partnerships to achieve global climate goals. The panel provided a platform for exchanging experiences and identifying new investment and cooperation opportunities in the sector.
The Forum, which brought together a diverse audience of companies, investors, and government authorities, reinforced both countries’ commitment to advancing toward a greener and more sustainable economy, based on innovation and clean energy.
The event also marked a milestone in bringing closer the economies of the Portuguese-speaking world, strengthening trade ties and strategic partnerships between Portugal and Cabo Verde, with a special focus on developing innovative energy solutions for the future.
