3rd edition of the ALER Talks: Renewable Energies and green financing in Lusophone African countries
In May, we resume the cycle of ALER Talks in an event dedicated to the debate of "Renewable Energy and green financing in Lusophone African countries".
The "ALER Talks" initiative began in May 2021 in which, the cycle of talks started with the theme "New Regulatory Framework for Renewable Projects in Angola", followed by a second edition in October of the same year, on "The role of national banks in financing the renewable energy sector".
The last editions of the "ALER Talks" were a success, exceeding the level of participation and featuring renowned speakers and institutions.
This year, the Conversations in a short and informal webinar format and moderated by the ALER'S Executive Director, Isabel Cancela de Abreu. Registration is free and open to the public.
For this 3rd edition, the conversation topics will be:
- The carbon market
- Green Bonds
- ESG - Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance
We believe that this will be an adequate timing to approach this theme with a growing interest worldwide, but also in the Lusophone environment, taking into account several recent developments, such as:
- Publication of standards for issuing green bonds by the Government of Cape Verde
- Public presentation of the voluntary carbon market in Portugal
- Announcement by the Angolan Minister of the Environment that the creation of a law for a carbon market in the country is at an advanced stage
- Latest Angolan Banking Conference on "Angolan banking and the ESG challenges"
