ALER visited Cape Verde in May
ALER team was in Cape Verde between May 1st and 5th for a technical visit in the scope of the project Communication and Awareness Plan for the dissemination of the "Sustainable Energy Access and Climate Action Plan" (SEACAP) of the municipalities of Praia and Ribeira Grande de Santiago.
During the technical visit, meetings were held in both municipalities with the SEACAP project management team, communication departments of the municipalities, municipal presidency officials and representatives of other departments. There were also made field visits to different pilot project implementation areas of the municipalities of Ribeira Grande de Santiago and Praia.
ALER benefited of this exchange to Cape Verde to hold the first General Assembly of the year, on May 4th, meet with its members and with several relevant entities in the renewable energy sector in Cape Verde, namely UNIDO, DNICE, CERMI, 3C, Repower and ARES. The main objective of these meetings was to discuss all the progress that it was made and also future opportunities for the sector.
These activities culminated with a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Energy, Alexandre Monteiro, who kindly received ALER at the Ministry on May 5th to strengthen the existing ties between the two institutions.
