Energy and Climate Business Mission brought together 17 companies in Cape Verde
On the sidelines of the 2nd CPLP Energy and Climate Seminar, ALER, the National Directorate of Industry, Trade and Energy (DNICE) and the National Directorate of Planning (DNP) of Cape Verde organized an Energy and Climate Business Mission: Portugal-Cape Verde on 29th October in Praia (Cape Verde). The main aim of this initiative, which brought together around 17 Portuguese and Cape Verdean companies, was to promote investment and exchange between the two countries.
In the morning, the mission's program focused mainly on presenting investment opportunities in Cape Verde, within the scope of the Climate and Environmental Fund (created under the debt conversion agreement with Portugal); promoting financing programs in the energy sector; announcing the pipeline of projects and tenders planned for the coming months; and in pitching sessions of the participating Portuguese and Cape Verdean companies.
In the afternoon, there was a visit to the electric mobility station of APP - Águas de Ponta Preta (an ALER Member), in Quebra Cancela; and to the solar power station of CERMI - Centro de Energias Renováveis e Manutenção Industrial, in Palmarejo.
The Energy and Climate Business Mission had the institutional support and participation of the Portuguese Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (AICEP), the Portuguese Directorate General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) and Cabo Verde Trade Invest, and the partnership of the Portuguese Renewable Energy Association (APREN), the Portuguese Water Partnership (PPA) and the Cape Verde Renewable Energy Association (ACER).
