II German Energy Business Mission To Cape Verde With The Topic “Energy Efficiency And Renewable Energies In The Tourism Sector Of Cape Verde”
The German-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILA) is organising the II German Energy Business Mission to Cape Verde from 25th – 28th of June 2016,including the II German-Cape-Verdean Energy Symposium and Bilateral Meetings.
In Cape Verde, high electricity as a result of imported fossil primary energy sources have a negative impact on the competitiveness and profitability of the touristic activities. Consequently, investments in the renewable energy production within the hotel industry should generate positive results and, at the same time, reduce the sector’s vulnerability to a price increase of fossil fuels. The tourism sector is considered one of the major energy consumers. There is, thus, not only a great potential but also the need to introduce renewable energies and measures to increase energy efficiency. Germany, in turn, is nowadays one of the European pioneer countries in energy efficiency and renewable energy measures and technologies.
With the participation in the Symposium on the 25th of June 2016, in the Hotel Oásis Belorizonte in Santa Maria/Sal (find the program here), you can obtain first-hand information about the technologies in the field of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency already implemented in Germany. In addition, seven German companies are going to present their products and services as well as possible areas of cooperation with companies in Cape Verde to a diverse audience of Cape Verdean specialists.
In the days following the Symposium, between the 26th and 28th of June, Bilateral Meetings will be held between the German participants and potential Cape Verdean partners, preferably at the premises of the respective Cape Verdean companies. For those Cape Verdean companies with offices in other cities, the CI and the CTCV provide their meeting rooms in the city of Santa Maria. After the registration, the German-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry will contact the Cape Verdean companies in order to schedule the bilateral meetings.
