Latest developments in the Renewable Energy sector in Mozambique: Launch of key documents

In the last two months of the year, the Government of Mozambique moved forward with the publication of two important documents that contribute, on a large scale, to the renewable energy sector in the country.

It was in this sense that the Council of Ministers approved the "Plan for the Electrification of Off-Grid Zones", on December 14th, Resolution No. 52/2023, outlining, among other things, the areas designated for the concession of mini-grids. The document is available here.

In addition, the "Renewable Energy Network Code" was released, establishing technical requirements for Renewable Energy Power Plants. This code defines principles for the verification of compliance throughout the useful life of installations and technical conditions from the perspective of the National Electricity System Management.
