Energy Transition Strategy points the way to renewable energies

Between 2024 and 2030, the Mozambican government plans to add 3.5GW of new hydroelectric capacity through the modernization of existing power stations and the completion of the Mphanda Nkuwa hydroelectric project.

It will also "expand and modernize the national grid" to "absorb the increase in a renewable generation", as well as "boost solar and wind energy" through a renewable energy auction program, and move forward with the construction of "green industrial parks and corridors enabled by clean, reliable and affordable energy".
