Portugal Renewable Summit 2019
It took place last 28th of November at Museu do Oriente in Lisbon, the Annual Conference of APREN, ALER’s Member, Portugal Renewable Summit 2019 under the subject “From Transition to Energy Commitment” and was attended by more than 450 participants, among them ALER's Executive Director.
The Conference was divided into three major panels. The first, dedicated to citizenship in the energy transition, addressed climate change, digitalisation and regulation in the new business models adoption.
In the second panel, financing tools and investment decisions were discussed, focusing on solar energy, PPAs, auctions and price projections of it for electricity for 2030.
Finally, the third panel presented the main challenges of the energy sector by 2030, such as market regulation, the networks adaptation to the new energy paradigma, licensing or repowering.
There was also space dedicated to the analysis of the National Energy and Climate Plan and the APREN Award 2019 ceremony, an initiative that aims to disseminate academic theses related to electricity of renewable origin. This editions award went to António Faria, a student from the Faculty of Engineering of the Oporto University with the theme "A Chance-Constrained Approach for Electric Vehicle Aggregator Participation in the Reserve Market"
