São Tomé and Príncipe will have new photovoltaic power station to strengthen energy stability

São Tomé and Príncipe will have a new photovoltaic power station to produce more than 10MW of energy, in a 60.7 million dollar project co-financed by the World Bank, the African Development Bank and Japan.

The project will last five years and will start in March. In São Tomé, the photovoltaic power station will be installed in the Água Casada area, in the Lobata district, and in the island of Príncipe, three small power stations will be built to recharge electric motor batteries that will be distributed to fishermen.
