PROLER Tender: Dondo Solar Power Plant Pre-qualified

The Energy Regulation Authority (ARENE) on April 26th, announced the pre-qualification of 5 of the 12 bidders for the project to build the Dondo Solar Power Plant, in Sofala, a process that is expected to be finalised by July. The companies pre-qualified are the following:

EDF Renouvelabes;
Enel Green Power SPA;
Global Africa Holding Limited/Anko Energy SAS;
Scatec Solar ASA
Total Eren SA

This announcement follows the expression of interest from 12 competitors in participating in the tender recently launched by the Government for the construction of a solar power plant in Dondo district, Sofala province, under the PROLER auction programme, as noticed by ALER here. A total of 135 entities, national and international, purchased the tender documents. The tender-opening act took place on November 23rd.

On April 30th ARENE sent the invitations to the pre-qualified applicants, who should acknowledge receipt and send back the confidentiality agreement. Only then will the request for technical proposals be sent, and after analysis the qualified bidders must then send the financial proposals.

This process is expected to take place over the next 14 weeks, but the deadline may be extended if necessary.
