RISE 2020 Report: Sustaining the Momentum

ESMAP published RISE 2020: Sustaining the Momentum, the third edition of the RISE report - Regulatory Indicators for Sustainable Energy.

This year’s edition measures policy progress in 138 countries on renewable energy, energy efficiency, electricity access, and access to clean cooking.

The report key findings are that while nearly every country in the world saw improvements in sustainable energy policies between 2017 and 2019, the most significant improvements were in sub-Saharan Africa. Globally policy progress overall is slower than in the past, particularly in what concerns renewable energy and energy efficiency.
