São Tomé and Príncipe hosts international seminar to discuss the future of renewable energy in São Tomé and Príncipe, Cape Verde and Mozambique
Last July an international workshop took place in Brazil-Sao Tome and Principe vocational training centre, where participants from the three African countries discuss effective renewable energy policies implementation.
This seminar is part of the Higher Education Cooperation Program of European Union “HEEMS” (Reinforcement of Higher Education as a tool to foster efficient use of energy applied to the poverty reduction within the marine sector through capacity building and regional integration), targeted to Cape Verde, São Tomé and Principe and Mozambique and aims to support the efficiency higher studies on these three countries.
The event was attended by Minister of Education, Culture and Training, Minister of Infrastructures, the Rector of Universidade de São Tomé e Príncipe and the Rector of Universidade de Vigo (the Coordinator of the project).
Currently are being created networks between the targeted countries higher education centers and institutions which have the know-how of knowledge fields related to the efficient use of energy and small-scale use of renewable energies.
