São Tomé and Príncipe will host the XIV Conference of Heads of State and Government of the CPLP
The Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe will host the XIV Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) on 27 August 2023.
São Tomé and Príncipe will succeed the Republic of Angola in the two-year rotating presidency of the organisation, with "Youth and Sustainability" being the theme that marks the São Toméan presidency for the 2023-2025 biennium.
On 14 July 2023, the São Toméan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities organised the official launch ceremony for the work of the summit, to be held in the city of São Tomé from 21 to 27 August 2023.
"The world belongs more and more to young people and it is up to them the great responsibility to transform it, however, it is the duty of all of us to preserve it", said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities of São Tomé and Príncipe, Alberto Neto Pereira.
This ceremony was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports of São Tomé and Príncipe, Ambassadors and Representatives of the Diplomatic Corps of the CPLP Member States, Advisors, Diplomats and the Media.

- August 21st-22nd: XLVI Meeting of the Cooperation Focal Points.
- August 24th: 264th Ordinary Meeting of the Standing Consultation Committee (preceded on 23 August by the Meeting of the Technical Group for the Preparation of the 264th Ordinary Meeting of the Standing Consultation Committee);
- August 25th: XXVIII Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers.
- August 27th: IV Conference of Heads of State and Government.
