'The year 2024 will remain in the memory of many of us'
The year 2024 will remain in the memory of many of us.
Although the international context and that of some CPLP countries brings us reasons for concern to which we cannot remain indifferent, the truth is that at ALER we have many good reasons for celebration.
We started 2024 with the ambition to reposition ALER and expand our scope of action to cover the climate agenda, get closer to Brazil and promote greater collaboration at the CPLP level. After holding 3 Energy and Climate Seminars and launching the II Energy Conference of CPLP, we can already say that we have fulfilled our goal!
We ended 2024 completing 10 years of activity on December 15th. The (simplified!) chronogram that accompanies this message illustrates well the diversity and quantity of activities we have developed over the years. We will celebrate our 10th anniversary during 2025 with several news and initiatives that we will be announcing and to which you are already invited. On these occasions we will have the opportunity not only to review everything we are and have done, but also to present what we want to be and do from now on.
So, in this Christmas season and troubled period that we are going through, I don't want to focus on the activities but on the people. Because, above all, ALER is an Association built on relationships between people. Working, partnership, financing and, essentially, trustworthy relationships.
It was this trust placed in ALER that allowed us to grow and go further. Move from being an association working alone to joining hands with several sister national associations. Move from national to regional activities, and form a cohesive, dynamic and cooperative Portuguese-speaking bloc that supports each other to carry out the energy transitions that each country aspires to.
To each of you who has crossed paths with ALER at any time in the last 10 years, I wish you,
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, with peace and in communion with those closest to you
and
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for believing in ALER and for contributing to this path taken together towards a more sustainable, together and inclusive future.
We continue together in 2025 for a year that we anticipate will be incredible for ALER and for renewable energy in Portuguese-speaking countries.
