UNIDO announced one job opportunity for the position of CEREAAC Technical Specialist in Angola

UNIDO is recruiting a Technical Specialist for the CEREEAC IED  in Luanda, Angola.

Under the supervision of the UNIDO Project Manager (PM) and his team, the TE will support the CEREEAC IED in the establishment of the centre, its key operational processes, quality frameworks, technical programs and partnerships. The IED has the overall CEREEAC management responsibility and decision-making power, while the TE will contribute with technical expertise towards the centre establishment. The TE will report to the UNIDO PM and the IED in the context of the regular coordination meeting.

In view of the early stage of the process, a pro-active “hands-on approach” of the UNIDO expert will be required. This includes flexibility and openness to a broad range of activities related to institution-building and technical program development and implementation. The TE understands the assignment as timely limited support to the CEREEAC management, leads by example and ensures transfer of knowledge and expertise to the local team from Central Africa. All the activities shall be directed towards the empowerment of the local CEREEAC team and the long-term sustainability of the centre, after the UNIDO project closure.

The expert shall build excellent relationships to the CEREEAC management and team, demonstrate empathy, integrity and compassion, which allows her/him to contribute to positive institutional development as a coach and mentor. The assignment will require high levels of diplomacy, resilience and persuasiveness. Moreover, the expert shall assist the UNIDO team with the development of joint activities and projects, cross-collaboration with the other centres of the GN-SEC.

The contract will be for one year with the possibility for extension to four years, depending on the performance and satisfaction of the client. The assignment requires immediate relocation to Luanda, Angola (no remote working from another country is possible).
