XIV CPLP Conference of Heads of State and Government approves documents and defines the agenda for the next two years
São Tomé and Príncipe took over the rotating presidency of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) during the 14th Conference of Heads of State and Government, held on August 27th in the host country. The event marked the transition of the rotating presidency from the Republic of Angola to São Tomé and Príncipe, which will lead the organisation for the next two years, with the central theme being "Youth and Sustainability".
The Declaration on the Presidency's motto, entitled "Youth and Sustainability in the CPLP", emphasises the commitment of the member countries to "promote cooperation in the youth, energy and sustainability sectors". The document emphasises the importance of supporting "access to sustainable, renewable and modern energy for all, while promoting the fight against climate change and its impacts". The approved documents can be consulted here.
ALER, as coordinator of the CPLP Thematic Commission on Energy, will work closely with São Tomé and Príncipe during its mandate to implement the proposed initiatives.
