In Bambadinca, in the Bafatá region, was implemented a mini-power grid in July 2015, with the support of TESE – Development Association, the Directorate General of Energy, the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, among others.

Solar Home Systems for rural development of Guinea-Bissau

In the regions of Bafatá, Gabú, Quinara and Tombali, were implemented homemade Solar Photovoltaic Systems in 2011, with the support of the Foundation Rural Energy Services and financed by subvention from the European Commission

ALER signs contract with AfDB to coordinate AMAP project activities in Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau

In March, ALER signed a contract with the African Development Bank (AfDB)/Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) to implement the Africa Mini-Grid Market Acceleration Programme (AMAP) in four Portuguese-speaking African countries, namely Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau.

Guinea-Bissau plans to install new photovoltaic power plants in the country

In an interview with the Guinean newspaper "O Democrata", Abdu Jaquité, delegate of the Government of Guinea-Bissau said that the photovoltaic (PV) power plants that are planned to be installed will make up for the country's energy deficit.

Signed a €400 million guarantee agreement to support the Lusophone Compact

The AfDB and the Portuguese Government signed a guarantee agreement to be granted to the African Development Bank under the Lusophone Compact, in which Portugal will provide guarantees of up to 400 million euros exclusively for projects financed by the AfDB and approved under this agreement.

We had testimonies from some women who were able to explain how difficult it was for them to integrate in this sector.
